Fabulous baked beans for Memorial Day (or any day)

I love, love baked beans, and Tom and I discovered the best-ever recipe for them years ago; we’ve been making them ever since, and a batch is in the oven now. Think a whole slew of mixed beans, molasses, brown sugar, Dijon, bacon, onions, garlic and so forth, cooked for an hour into a vat of unctuous deliciousness. Aah!
