Dinner review

Well, I have to be honest in telling you that I wouldn't again make this spice-roasted squash recipe. T just flat-out didn't like it, and I was being generous in eating as much as I did. The soufflé, on the other hand, was delicious, but I don't think it was worth the hour+ it took to render the pumpkin puree; canned probably would have been just fine because for all the pumpkin hoo-hah, that was not the dominant taste in the darn thing. Ah well, you can't win 'em all. We did get a lot of freaking beta carotene and all the good business eggs provide: choline, Vitamins D & B12, riboflavin, protein!! Just splurge and get the good eggs; the ones from chickens who aren't forcefully bred and then forced to live in a cage so small they can't even turn around or stand up. The chicken industry is so beyond abusive, immoral and tragic, and so the reason cage-free eggs are more expensive is because those poor hens are actually allowed to walk around, eat what they were meant to, and lay their eggs in a humane setting. Literally food for thought.
