The yard pile…and now it’s gone. Yay!

Also, Jack as a scary pirate. We’ve taken the day off from cooking, and I am heading out soon to get a much-needed massage.

We did try a new pizza place: Pete’s Apizza. Apparently it’s New Haven style and it was really pretty good. For DC peeps, it’s on Wisconsin, near Friendship Heights. Solid!!

Bridesmaids

is a pretty darn funny movie that can be appreciated and enjoyed even when you feel like a complete zombie. If you’ve seen it, do you agree that the Megan character looks a LOT like a female Ricky Gervais?

I am really enjoying the French Silk pie peeps -delish- and am looking forward to breaking into the baked beans soon. Grill is on!

Fabulous baked beans for Memorial Day (or any day)

I love, love baked beans, and Tom and I discovered the best-ever recipe for them years ago; we’ve been making them ever since, and a batch is in the oven now. Think a whole slew of mixed beans, molasses, brown sugar, Dijon, bacon, onions, garlic and so forth, cooked for an hour into a vat of unctuous deliciousness. Aah! Recipe is posted, and a photo will follow their exit from the oven.
