3 April 2020: a bit of sweetness and light

It’s been a week, friends!

This is both therapeutic and hilarious: marmot* rage-screams. I dare say that bear is most of us in some form or fashion.

These goats. I don’t know why it’s funny. It is.

I’m afraid that’s all I have in the way of humor for you today, but this is very dear and will warm your soul.

*my friend Karen, who knows many things, let me know that screaming animal is not, in fact, a bear, but rather a marmot, which is a rodent. Learn something new every day!

2 April 2020: My mom's birthday + humor + misc

Today my beautiful mother turned some age between 68 and 70. I won’t tell you more! She and Dad were supposed to be here with us right now, so that they’re not really blows. But, we FaceTimed and sent presents which arrived today (go, USPS), and I’m giving her a huge shoutout here because she is really awesome and has great joie de vivre and is a wonderful friend, cusser, partier, mom, and grandmother, in no particular order.

Today was the same as pretty much all other days: distance learning, corralling the kids, feeding the kids, nagging Oliver, and running yet another load through the dishwasher. Jack mowed three lawns (that kid is really doing well during this quarantine), Ol made it through another full day in pajamas, and I put down another few bags of mulch. I LOVE mulch.

Quarantine Day 31.

This is possibly a bit true.

Did y’all know that Georgia’s governor is really dumb? I mean, he cheated to win, so there’s that. But he’s also an ignoramus.

1 April 2020: Does it matter that it's April? Humor.

Friends, that we have reached April feels like a milestone, an arbitrary one, for what is different, but a milestone nonetheless. I appreciate you sitting with me as I processed my first major bout of rage-depression; I think it’s lifting thanks in large part to good friends, good deeds, and some lovely bits of sunshine. How are y’all doing?

Humor:

For you today, at the advent of National Poetry Month, I have two delights from George Conway (Mr. Kellyanne) and one of his followers who I don’t know but whose words I appreciate.

Additionally, this is beyond marvelous. Perhaps I need to make one, too.
