Catered yums, Whole Foods One Day Deal

I just delivered a spread of really gorgeous food and am quite jealous that I won't be having the very same stuff for my own dinner: the leek confit and aged goat cheese tart, Julia's chocolate-almond cake and such a beautiful selection of tea sandwiches- apple chili chutney, roast chicken and sharp cheddar, roast chicken with tarragon-shallot mayo and toasted almonds, and marcona almonds with fig spread and a young goat cheese. Maybe I'll make myself a plate of those sandwiches for dinner, actually. I think T has a work dinner anyway... Do you know what I have on tap tomorrow? Nothing! Oliver has school until 2:15, and Jack until 3, and I'm just going to putz and read and exercise all morning. Whee!!!

It is such an amazing cheese- firm with a ring of soft, a nice rind, the perfect degree of stink and ooze. Wow do I love it. 

Hilarious Mitt-oops, food!

OMG, did y'all see this pathetic attempt by Mitt at rousing a popular call? Who thinks Ryan is a tad sorry he accepted the VP invite? Oh wow! They are so going to lose in November (at least I really hope they will). I think so. Alright, 2 beautiful chocolate-almond cakes, 1 leek-Bûcheron tart, and all the makings for two more tarts plus 60 sandwiches DONE. This meant that we did order in dinner, but as I can't adequately cook Indian and am trying to honor some limits, go us!
