Shaved Asparagus with Hazelnuts, Mint and Parmesan (it did take a long time to shave all that asparagus!)

Quinoa with Pistachios, Apricots and a Lime-Mirin Vinaigrette (a great salad!)

Tea Sandwiches : Cucumber and Watercress; Chicken with Apple Chile Chutney and Sharp Cheddar

Julia Child's Reina de Saba (chocolate-almond cake with a rum ganache icing)

These were part of a beautiful menu. I really loved this job!

OMG

People, I am totally overwhelmed. WTF on the past week!! Oliver woke me up at 4am and I never got back to sleep. I made the mujadarra during breakfast, and my kitchen smells to the heavens. That is comforting. Ol and I took Jack to school, trimmed an insane hedge outside, took Percy for a walk, went to the bank, and now I'm off to be the library mom at Jack's school. We leave Thursday morning at the crack of dawn for LA, and I'm not sure when I'm going to pack. With Tom gone, it makes things feel even more crunched. AAARGH. Whoever said you can do it all was lying, on crack or had their rose-colored-glasses-head up their you know what. Happy Anniversary to me. At least the champagne is chilling!
