Yo, Zereshk polo night was a success. Not quite as incroyable as from the kebab joint, but this was my first attempt. Thank you Kiu for the recipe, barberries and saffron! YUM!

Also, isn’t T’s latte art getting good? He is such the barista. At present, he is definitely tipsy after a v. stressful week at work. Good for you, T. Dawg.

So, after an hour in bed, Jack calls down and says, “Mom, can you come up here for a second?” I head up and he shows me a fantastic piece of writing: rules from school that he’s sounded out and written down. He is too cute, although I wonder about possible angst he’s taking home from school if this is what he’s writing about. ?? Anywho, he sat down with us and had some chicken and barberries: “this is so awesome, mom” and regaled us with jokes. Finally, I said it was time for bed so he headed up and then we hear “John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt” at voce superiore. I said, “hon, it’s time to stop singing.” His reply: “Mom, I’m warming up my voice for violin tomorrow.”
