Pasta dinner that required no thought, good article, brownie-off

Feeling in the rare mood for pasta, I decided to make my own sort of pasta primavera: whole wheat chiocciole (snail in Italian), red pepps, garlic, greens, tomatoes, basil, pecorino, a dab of fresh ricotta, etc. It wasn't anything special at all but it was easy, fresh and didn't require any thought. I focused more on my wine and the Op-Ed section from today's NYT. I want to like and agree with Tom Friedman more than I actually do, but today's article gets my full support. Did you read it? Agreed.

I have decided to commence the brownie-off. In one corner is a recipe from Nanny's box simply entitled, Brownies. It's very simple and goes the direction of pecans. In the other corner is the Cocoa Brownies with Browned Butter and Walnuts recipe from Bon Appetit that I wrote about recently. I'll let you know how they turn out...
