Tom 's Mom and cousin are coming for dinner tonight, and as a belated birthday celebration for my MIL, we're having a Strawberry-Rhubarb pie for dessert. I've got a bunch of pretty beets and carrots in the fridge so might make a nice slaw with those. Many tomatoes line my kitchen windowsill so maybe I can make a tart for the main course. The possibilities are endless; unfortunately, my time today is not. And I also wanted to make some brandied peaches. Well, we'll see what happens, and I'll keep you posted. It is such a beautiful, clear, somewhat cool morning. I love this time of year, when you get a slight reprieve each morning as the crispness hints at fall to come.
