The boys are at camp, so I tried to take a much-needed nap. I fell asleep for a brief time, during which I dreamed that Amanda Hesser and I became good friends after an oddly rocky start due to some disagreement over a recipe (like I’m really going to go head to head with Amanda). Anyway, I was delighted to be her friend. Then I woke up and came down to make Pickled Chard Stems (from Gramercy Tavern) and found that my chard, sitting on the top shelf of my fridge, was half frozen. I’m sure this does not happen to Amanda.
